Quick start
- Install Baby Monitor on two devices - mix freely: Android–Android, Android–iPhone, iPhone–iPhone, phone–tablet.
- On the device that stays with the baby: choose Baby station, start the room, note the 6-digit PIN. A tablet often works well here so you can take your phone with you.
- On the other device: choose Parent station, enter the PIN. Same PIN works across Android and iPhone.
- Works on the same Wi‑Fi, on mobile data, or when one device is on a different network - a secure relay helps when a direct peer link isn't possible.
Parent features
- Multi-camera — connect several baby stations; each room has its own PIN.
- Push-to-talk — hold the mic button on the parent station to speak into the baby room.
- Cry / sound alert — optional loud-sound banner on the parent view (not a medical alarm).
- Remote camera & torch — switch front/back camera and toggle the LED flash from the parent station (flash needs hardware).
- Night timeline — log sleep and wake notes from the parent app.
- Picture-in-picture (PiP) — keep watching while using other apps (where the device supports it).
- Local recording — save video on the baby phone/tablet, or on your Mac/Windows parent viewer to a folder you choose. No cloud upload; files stay on your devices.
- Free desktop viewer — Mac and Windows parent apps can watch and control cameras without a mobile subscription.
Common issues
No video / stuck connecting - confirm both devices use the same PIN and that camera/mic permissions are allowed. On mobile data or guest Wi‑Fi, allow a minute for the connection to settle; keep the baby station plugged in and awake. If connecting still takes too long, fully quit the app (on both devices if needed) and open it again.
App closes in background - Android may sleep apps aggressively; allow battery unrestricted / foreground service prompts when shown.
Push-to-talk silent - hold the mic button; check volume and that the baby station is still in the session.
Flashlight / torch - needs a device with an LED flash (many tablets don't have one). Remote torch and camera switch are controlled from the parent station.
Recording won't start - for baby-station recording the baby device must stay connected and awake. Only one recording can run per baby station at a time.
Where are my recordings? - Baby-station clips save on the baby device (short segments in gallery/files). Mac/Windows parent recording saves to the folder you pick on first use.
Live video frozen after stopping a recording - update both apps to the latest store version, then disconnect and reconnect. If it persists, email support with device models and app versions.
App still runs in the background / battery warning after closing without hang-up - if the camera session was live and you closed the app from the phone’s app switcher (instead of the red hang-up button), monitoring can keep running in the background. Open the app again, start the same role (e.g. Baby station), then tap the red hang-up button to end the session cleanly. Tip: always use hang-up when you want to stop monitoring.
